MAD LORD Samurai of 1000 Deaths is a half hour, action period drama. Using a mixture of animation and live action, the film explores the ideas of death and justice. With a Hollywood cast and a score written by the desert rock band STEAK ( Ripple Music) it is a visceral, comic book style, tale.
The MAD LORD film is part of an interconnected body of work created in collaboration with the band STEAK.
This includes an album, a comic book, two music videos as well as the half hour film.
FILM SYNOPSIS
When a great samurai Lord loses his mind, his beloved concubine tasks General Ekie with finding a cure. The General returns from his mission with more than just medicine, he brings evidence of treachery, witchcraft and betrayal.
The film’s release coincides with the release of STEAKS new album ‘Acute Mania’ on Ripple Music. Tracks from the album featured in the films score.
